What were your favorite discoveries or exercises on this learning journey?PBWiki, My Heritage, Zoho Writer
How has this program assisted or affected your lifelong learning goals? It has opened some door to new tech possibilities and I have been able to experience some things I had not previously experienced.
Were there any take-aways or unexpected outcomes from this program that surprised you? I was surprised at how much this program intersected with personal tech goals.
What could we do differently to improve upon this program’s format or concept? Please maintain the small learning increments format. That is best when many people are trying to do this at a service desk. I still need to go back over some of this. . . .

And last but not least…
If we offered another discovery program like this in the future, would you again choose to participate? Definitely!

Okay. So I tried to get the RSS feed from www.nlc.state.ne.us/Feeds/BookTalk.xml and was given the message that I had to validate my account with another email reply and that is not showing up, so I will have to wait on that step.

I found that some of the podcasts I tried to explore were not available to me.

Of the recommended videos, the fifties commercials and the sixties music videos were a total blast from the past! I enjoyed the librarian giving the "how to" to a log. Or was it a bump on a log?

I am so impressed with this awards list-. What a mind boggling array of opportunity!

I have never had time to really explore Google and its capabilities. So much to see and do and use!

I can see uploading all of my library docs to Google and not having to worry about losing them locally.

I also tried the My Heritage site and see so much possibility!

We already use wikis at our library. "They are something else to check in addition to email." I have heard that comment from more than one staff member.

I see the advantages to a wiki.

I can think of the advantage of having a family wiki for telling the family stories. . . .

I was very interested in the extension to Library 3 and 4.0. The 4.0 physical description reminded me greatly of General Dodge's personal library. The more we change, the more we stay the same?
I don't think they'll allow cigars in the public libraries, though. Or liquor. . . .

I loved the video--so easy to understand! I see the potential for great advantage to people in a particular group such as the teacher example given. I liked the Holdrege Library tagroll.

I signed up for the account and gave one tweet. I tried following Allana and checked out the NLC News. I also found a rather dated tweet about LCL. . . .

I would agree with an earlier comment that I have neither the time nor the inclination to share that much on the internet.

Ugh! I am feeling like I am so far behind. The tech larnin' I have done has been spotty and disjointed. So I am always trying to connect the dots. I come from the days when tech people were rather dog-in-the-manger about the information they gave out and actually growled at you. I guess that may have been job insurance. . . .

My kids are way ahead of me, but they were just ahead of the true millennials. It would have been so much easier to have just grown up with all of this. I date back to no indoor plumbing!

I love being able to send a daily email to my family members that they can open as a "package from home" in the middle of their hectic days. I am starting to get into the photo storage online. It is so much easier to organize! Have to remember the backups. . .

At least I can ask how to do things in my present work environment. And I have additional support with exploration in projects like NE 2.0. . . .

I have played with the letter site and the mosaic site. I was really excited about making a mosaic. However, it took too long and I still haven't had time to go back and see if there is a finished product. I should do that!

After several aborted attempts while serving at a public service desk, I finally got my picture transported through the ether! I'm the one on the right in my profile pic. Thanks to a staff member for showing me by changing her profile picture!

I have a Google Talk account at home. My daughter made me do it! I Google Talked with her one evening and it turns out I am not as fast at responding as she is and she grew a bit weary waiting on my replies. :) I have IM'ed with helplines for my computer and business done on my home computer (hotel reservations, Trac Fone, etc.) I have also practiced a bit with the Meebo set-up at LCL. So I am moving on to the RSS part of things! Thanks!

After watching/reading the 7 1/2 Habits of Highly Successful Lifelong Learners, I would have to say the hardest habit would be #7: Teach /Mentor Others, since there is still so much for me to learn about technology. The easiest habit would be #1, since I know where I want to be. I just have to get there!
